(Coloring practice with my Krita program, getting better I think?) (Update note: Just retouched this a bit, neatened up a few lines.)
She got him! (Or did he get her this time, hmm?)
Alice has this habit of trying to surprise hug Fort whenever she has a chance. This sprung up after the second time she visited the big naga's oasis. Before she left to go home she wrapped her little arms around his neck and kissed him on the forehead before running off. But not without taking note of how he froze up at the action. She never took it as a negative thing, it kinda just made her love the idea of hugging him again, Alice is a pretty cuddly kid. (And she loves seeing him freeze like that too, not in a bad way though, she can tell he's not upset)
Poor Fortitude on the other hand, while he used to be a fierce and proud warrior he gets quite awkward when shown any sort of affection, he's just not used to it. (he doesn't believe he deserves it in the first place) and simply freezes right up when shown any kindness, or this case a simple hug, (he tends to have very small panic moments when he's trying to figure out just what's going on and what he should do.)
This doesn't mean he doesn't like them, on the contrary he secretly adores it (even if he won't ever admit it.)
He might like it but he still shy's away if he thinks the girl is about to show affection in some way (He's not very good at telling when this is about to happen so its not much) so she's learned to be a bit sneaky. In this case she waited till he was dozing in the sun before springing at him.
Fort however was a bit prepared this time and didn't freeze up, just as well since she didn't manage to get her arms around his neck this time, instead grabbing a hunk of his hair.
If he hadn't caught her it might have been a bit of a painful situation. >w>
This is right afterwards, Fort was getting ready to scold the little eight year old but pretty much melted when she rubbed her cheek against his, also reminding the big naga how small she is.
Oh, interesting fact before I go.
Alice is actually a little weaker then other kids her age, all due the conditions she was placed in when she was kidnapped when she was seven. She was kept in a small, dark and damp room for six months with only the cloths on her back and a thin moth eaten blanket, as well as getting very little to eat.
Its all made her a bit sickly and a bit more prone to getting ill compared to other people. Its also effected her base body temperature, its in fact a little lower then normal, making her very sensitive to the cold. It causes her to crave warmth, another reason why she likes to get close to Fort, he produces a lot more heat then regular people. Sometimes when she finds a heat source her mind and body just turn off for a little while, often dozing right off. When this happens its in fact her body's way of trying to recover and fight off the lingering illness.
Fort is always very careful when she dozes off like this, he doesn't know the exact reasons but he does know she probably need the rest. He gets ultra protective like this, there's no way he'd let any sort of threat get near the little one when she's sleeping, that's for sure!

Overall Vision Originality
Technique Impactthe water color isn't half bad if you like the style, though I personally prefer "cleaner" methods of coloring.
The hands are drawn really well and I especially like how well you got the pudgy kid-fingers
Where exactly is fort supposed to be looking? his line of sight would be on something down and to the front-left of him where as Alice is directly to his left
the only real problems with this are:
*the way how fort's fingers are spread he would be pressing into her arm rather painfully
*fort's right arm (the viewer's left) seems to have been rather horribly maimed as it has been flattened and the line between his shoulder muscle and bicep is rather deep and looks like someone has taken a rather large chop into his upper arm
*Alice seems to have a rather odd perspective going on were it would look like her legs are about a foot farther back then her upper body
*Alice's shirt is a little off: suspenders usually mean that the shirt is tucked in and not only does it appear that the shirt is overlapping her pants but it is perfectly even with them making her seem like a tube.
